Originally from Plano, Texas, Prashanthi Giridhar, MD, graduated magna cum laude from Southern Methodist University with a bachelor’s in biomedical engineering. She received her medical degree and joint MBA from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, Texas.

Dr. Giridhar completed her medical internship and residency in ophthalmology at Texas Tech, where she served as chief resident. After a brief stint as faculty in the ophthalmology department at Texas Tech, where she was also involved in resident education, she came back to Dallas to pursue her fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus at Children’s Medical Center Research Institute at UT Southwestern.

As the recent addition to Pediatric Eye Specialists, Dr. Giridhar is committed to caring for children with eye disorders. She specializes in treating children with misaligned eyes (strabismus), pediatric cataracts, ptosis, retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) and glaucoma.
